10.6.3 isn't booting

I ran a 10.6.3 install and everything looked peachy but at the end it said it failed because it couldn't make it bootable. Maybe something like this, I don't remember very well. Anyway, I ignored it and restarted my laptop and tried to boot it and every time I get:

When I select Linux and then choose OS X from the GRUB menu, I get

 

Does anyone have any advice? Did the install really fail or does that error not matter? I was told it didn't matter.
