Hello,

I am trying to install Snow Leopard 10.6.4 on my PC but SL won't recognize my internal SATA HDD drive. Though it does recognize my USB disk drive. My internal disk is not even visible in Disk utitility app neither it's listed in /dev directory. When I start the installation i get message like this:

diskarbitrationd can't probe /dev/disk1 (error: 0XFFFFFFFA) (it's my win 7 boot partition)

diskarbitrationd can't probe /dev/disk2 (error: 0XFFFFFFFA) (my windows c drive)

diskarbitrationd can't probe /dev/disk3 (error: 0XFFFFFFFA) (my windows d drive)

Some how with kicks and punches I am successful in installing SL in my USB HDD, and its running well but SL shows no sign of my internal HDD drive or my ethernet card, though my USB speakers work well.

I have tried installing latest kexts for ICH10 (IOATAFamily) but its in vain. If any one can give insight into this problem or provide solution then I would be thankful to you.

Following are techspecs of my pc

What kext's have you tried?

And in what folder did you install these kext's?

What Chameleon or boot method?

If you post details then help might come...

I don't mean to say you gave any lack of hardware but in relation to OSX install, so its all good

Kext was IOATAFamily.kext modified for ICH10. I am using Chameleon boot loader 5. At the time of writing this, I have erased my HDD completely but still nothing.

PS: My bios supports only AHCI mode. Legacy emulation and IDE is not supported.
