nerdkiller14 Posted September 28, 2010 Share Posted September 28, 2010 Hey I'm new to the forum and need some help, My specs: -Dell Optiplex gx620 -slimline version -PENtium 4 HT -Intel GMA 900 graphics (I beleive) -1GB of RAM -DVI OUT -250 WD Hard drive MY PROBLEM: I installed SNOW LEOPARD 10.6.3 Retail with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] ( the installation went with out a hitch). It Booted up with the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] DVD and I installed [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] ( no updates or drivers) then I restarted my computer. When it came back on I saw the RED APPLE Pressed or it automatically pressed ( I Don't REMEMBER). Then It restarts and repeats the cycle. I have tried different apple.boot.com files from the [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] dvd and the symbios.pilst PLZ HELP ME I CAN ONLY BOOT OF THE DVD !!!!!!!!!! I thought it was for systems that could boot from a vanilla kernel, i may be wrong. GX520 & GX620 will not run on vanilla kernel, you need a Legacy Kernel. Graphics, audio, ethernet are the same as GX520 (see in my signature below) Do you have access to a Mac or Hack and an external hard drive? You use it to make a installer on a USB drive using your macbook, all straight forward, just read the instructions carefully. You have to use the "Chocolate Kernel" both when applying "myhack" to the installer and again when running "myhack" on to the installed system on your GX620 One other thing, when running the "myhack on/from your mackbook. MAKE CERTAIN THE DESTINATION is pointing to the USB drive. Don't worry about the video, audio, ethernet yet you can do the later. Sorry I don't do email support. Age and experience does not matter, even old decrepit folks like me can do it. DO I NEED DSDT OR ANY OTHER KTEXT IF SO PLZ ATTATCH OR TELL ME WHERE AND HOW TO INSTALL No DSDT needed. You will need one kext each for Video, Audio and Ethernet. Yes known problem with using the frame buffer fix for GMA950 video in Office 2004 & 2008. If you want to try the DSDT that somebody added to the guide, that will fix it with vanilla kexts. BUT if you end up with a non bootable system, no help from me. I did not include DSDT patches or GFX Strings to keep it simple. If you cant compile with that :DSDT Editor" then you are not trying. Also read my post on page 20 of that topic. Are you sure I have a 950 or do I have a 900 or are they the same drivers GMA950, look in "System Profiler"/Graphics For the dsdt to work you have to replace the "AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext" If you are running 10.6.3 you can extract from the OS X 10.6.3 install dvd with "Pacifist" and install with "Kext Utility" You could update to 10.6.4 using the exact instructions from the guide.(that will replace the frame buffer) If you have upgraded to 10.6.4 run the "Graphic Update" from Software Update.(also replaces the frame buffer) BTW your email did not really bounce (don't ask) At least you are doing your own research and trying things now.
