My system specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte 3p45-ud3l

CPU: intel q6600

Graphics: Nvidia 9800gtx+

Memory: 4gb ddr2

Storage: 1tb samsung drive, ahci mode

Optical: None (had one installed and it quit working, rarely used it so it wasnt replaced)

Partition Configuration:

~100gb -> win 7 installation

~100gb -> ubuntu 10 installation (+/- a little for swap)

~800gb -> storage (for music/vids/etc) with ~300gb free

*Using grub as the bootloader to switch between 7 and ubuntu

Im interested in adding OSX to this machine, (more for novelty than necessity tho ;)) Ive viewed several tutorials, and checked to see if my hardware is supported (it is, or at least should be). And Ive set my bios settings to what they need to be for the install.

Im still researching before I go out and spend money on the OS, and I have several questions.

-Is it possible to install OSX to a partition?, if so can I prepare the partition before hand using ubuntu or windows?

-Is it possible to install from a usb flash drive? (I wanna put the CD/DVD contents on the drive and use it for the install)

-Is it possible to keep grub as my bootloader? (most tutorials mention bootcamp, but i prefer to keep my current grub setup)

-Is there any (legal) way to test the OS before I fork out the cash for it?
