I am new to hackintosh and want to build a system that is compatible. I have found some parts, but don't know if they will work. If you can help that would be great.

Biostar H55 HD LGA 1156 H55 mATX Motherboard with a

Intel i3-540 Processor or

Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2H LGA 775 G41 mATX Motherboard with a

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 Processor.

hi burns154 a word of advice for u , in the beginning of my hacking period I did a lot of research and what I found out was going to the osx page in the wiki and checking out the link which shows component compatability with the version of os x u r installing , also my personal opinion is to match the hardware that is advertised on the apples website so that the hardware platform is same and there will be minimal headache while updating or modifing the os x install on the system ,

hope this info was worth ur time , enjoy , hacking hackintosh eh :-)

I have gone there, but they don't have much for i3 processors or compatible motherboard. I want to install Snow Leopard, but they don't have a section on processors. So I thought someone here could help. Also I found out that the i3-540 was actually used in a 2010 model of the iMac I would just like to know what motherboard is best for hackintosh that supports i3.
