Hutts
Hi Insanely Maccers, I've been lurking around this forum for a very long time, and I've finally worked up the courage to make my first post. My goal is to install 10.6 retail on my old Toshiba Satellite A10 (P4M) using boot-132 method. When the kernel boots and starts loading, it hangs at the famous 'buffer headers' message. I have managed to get 10.5.6 retail installed using the 'ACPI fix' - a hack using the old 1.03 ACPIPlatform.kext and AppleAPIC.kext. I'd like to get 10.6 going, as it reportedly works with my wireless adapter and 10.6 is much cooler! However, I don't think I'm going to be able to do the same hack with 10.6 (and I'd rather not have to). Does anyone know if this kind of problem can be overcome using an edited DSDT? All help welcome and greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hutts.
