In case someone finds it useful, here's my acpidump DSDT.dsl file created for the Hybrid Graphics Linux project.

I had to rename if from .dsl -> .txt to be able to upload.

it is the same :)

I don't know if this helps, but here're some essential links related to Optimus-hacking under Linux. Maybe someone who understands kernels better can find something from these links what we can use:

Linux Hybrid Graphics project's web site. Essential links & info
Discrete ATI graphics and vga-switcheroo Method for changing active GPU's in Linux. Working in daily use.
Hybrid Graphics Linux Launchpad Development site for acpi_calls. highly useful mailing list archive (also eee 1215N)

Of course we don't care that much about switchable graphics, but maybe this gives ud idea how to take control of ion2 chipset?
The bad thing is, the GPU switching is (as far as I understand) controlled by kernel component called vga-switcheroo, and sadly that's only under the pretty much latest 2.6.35.x kernels. And of course that shoots us, OSX users, in the leg. :D

From what I'd read, the new ION architecture makes use of at least part of the normal Atom's graphics pipeline, whereby it renders by writing back into the Intel GMA's memory space (I'm guessing it's the GMA's framebuffer), to be drawn normally. This is why the new ION, while smaller and faster, is considered bottlenecked by the Atom's pipeline and memory controller, and the silent ruckus between NVIDIA and Intel. The first ION had a separate data path to video out, whereas the new one only has direct out to HDMI but paradoxically not to its own 1215n screen.

It's not clear whether or not an ION driver and a GMA3150 driver would need to know about each other, or, if so, how much. It may not be as simple a matter as choosing to use one and not the other such as it would be with the 1201pn..

Hello, Can someone post a clear guide on how to install 10.6.0 on 1215N. I'm getting confused how people have managed to get it working, I don't care (for now) that the graphics card doesn't work. If you can help me on msn or private message, then I'll be eternally grateful.

is there anyone do you think will replace your wifi card?
but this card is combo card,
802.11n wifi + bluetooth 3.0

Attached File  DSCN4161.JPG   323.45KB   227 downloads
Attached File  DSCN4164.JPG   321.44KB   202 downloads
Attached File  DSCN4165.JPG   318.42KB   174 downloads
Attached File  DSCN4166.JPG   325.28KB   144 downloads

I tried to replace the AR5008 wireless network card,
no problem in the pc
Attached File  DSCN4167.JPG   305.17KB   161 downloads

Attached File  DSCN4168.JPG   293.29KB   92 downloads
Attached File  DSCN4169.JPG   300.06KB   89 downloads

But can not be detected in OSX 10.6.4

Mines black and came with artheros card.
I didnt opt for the built in bluetooth cause it might have been a combo card.
I have a small usb bluetooth dongle that works fine.
IF only i could get teh QE to work I will be happy!

Yes I did. I did everything the same except I teaked the intallerframework to get os x to install on to a MBR partitioned hard drive. I tried the newest sleep enabler but sleep don't seem to work.
Shut down and restart most of the time.
I can't get chameleon to install properly for some reason.

Mine's red and has Atheros.
None of the US vendors I found had a BT option (let alone USB 3.0). I wasn't aware the BT came as a combo on the wifi card.

For those wondering, I haven’t looked at the GMA 3150 in a while. When I have time, I’ll try to get the framebuffer kext working (which will speed things up a bit, even without QE).

So it's possible to make a framebuffer kext but not make QE working (for now).
