th3count Posted September 16, 2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Hello, I am new to the community and trying to get Mac OS X onto my laptop Gateway P-79 C2Q 9000 8GB Memory Geforce GTX260M 1GB Intel PM45 so far this is my experience. Kalyway 10.5.2 my USB Mouse and Keyboard work just fine but no other USB devices work, I bought a Dlink DWA-125 which works just fine in section 2 of this post. but i cannot find a kext file that will get the USB ports to fireup more then the mouse and keyboard. From here i am sure i can find audio and video drivers. Hazard 10.6.2 With this one everything works fine and dandy audio works, video works and is detected as 1gb. i can get all the USB ports to work and see external hard drives and charge my cell phone. i can get online. BUT my cd/DVD RW are not detected. also w/this version i have to set the BIOS to SATA MODE IDE otherwise i get plagued with "waiting for root device" i have tried installing the kext file from kexts.com for the Intel PM45 AHCI+9 this causes waiting for root device on boot. any ideas?
