applepear
So I have what was a spare PC with a dead motherboard (bad capacitors). I turned the PC upside down, gave it a good shake and the following fell out: 1 x Intel Q6600 4 x 2GB DDR2 800 2 x WD 1TB Black SATA drives The case has a working 300W power supply and can accommodate a microATX motherboard. It was a spare PC and so I can do anything I want with the left over pieces. A Mac clone is what I'm thinking. Please note I'm a Mac noob but fairly comfortable with PCs and hardware. Given the above parts, what motherboard would be best for a reliable Snow Leopard box? I heard that it's best working with the retail edition; I don't mind buying that. So assume I would have that. What SILENT video card would be best (I use a fanless ATI 5450 card in my HTPC and it's great; would that work)? Or maybe the recommended motherboard would have an onboard video out? Thanks in advance.
