So I decided last night to install OS X on my custom built PC, because my mom wanted to see what it was like before she bought a mac. Well I've had it installed on a laptop before with some problems, but it at least ran. Now I have a 50gb unformatted partition and I tried using iATKOS v7 last night and it ended up going into a reboot loop seconds after booting from the DVD, and I ended up having to use a Recovery disc after because my Windows installation said BOOTMGR is missing (But I fixed that). My specs are:

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P

4GB Memory

XFX XXX Edition Radeon HD 5770

I think that's all the important information needed about the specs, so if anyone can help me figure out just what I need to do it would be really great, I don't want to have to reinstall Windows because I made a mistake.

Oh I forgot to mention my ultimate goal is to get Snow Leopard on this, but I don't mind starting off with Leopard if I have to.

Yeah tell me about it. I've tried 3 other discs and none work :/

Is it a IDE or sata dvd drive and have you tried different DVD /Hard drive port combinations.

And have you access to an external USB DVD drive, that sometimes works when the onboard DVD is problematic.
