Dustie
I have an AMD PC, dual-core processor on M61PME-S2P motherboard and I want to try to run OSX on it. Any advice regarding installation -- recommended installators/bootloaders, configurations, etc.? For Gigabyte hardware? I have GeForce nForce 430 onboard, also a SATA controller - I read there might be problems with it? Any problems with harddrive detection I can run onto? Also, I do not have a separate graphics card, only the integrated GeForce 6150SE -- any way to find out how it might work? I'm currently running Vista Home Premium 64-bit, I have 2 partitions, the main is 100GB and I want to format it and use it for OS X. I'm not sure which OSX I will use, but I should lean towards the build which should prove most probable to start on my configuration. I read the compatibility on wikipedia, and it someone got 10.6.0 to run on the same motherboard, different processor (Phenom X3), apparently also with SATA working... here's the wiki entry: Kernel: mach_kernel.test7 from modbin Graphic: PNY GeForce 8400 GS (use Chameleon rc3 with PC EFI 10.5 used OSX86Tools to install EFI) Sound: working with Voodoo sound kext LAN: using nForceLan.kext 0.64 from 10.5 Restart/Shutdown: working after DSDT patch (make sure to edit RTC set Length = 0x02 not 0x04) Sleep: not tested nForce 430 sata - used slash's kext The above sound very promising regarding my motherboard, what do you guys think? Any advice appreciated!
