Matthz
Hi..... My computer works fine with Kalyway 10.5.1, I want to update to 10.5.8, but I didn't find a thread how to do. Shall I use the Apple combo-update (I don't think so) or exist a Kalyway combo update?! I know a little bit about all this, but I got only a Installer-DVD to use Kalyway - so please, explain it very simple ;-) Hardware specifications shouldn't be interesting - 10.5.1 works already ;-) Thx

If you have AMD CPU you must use modified kernel (voodoo, anv etc.)
Matthz
Okay, thx I'll try it.... no, I have an 2.2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo. The iDeneb should word - I hope so ;-)
Matthz
One last question: for the 10.5.3 Kalyway update, I must install the kernel pkg and choose a kernel. Which one? (I'm not installing it before I know....)
J.B
depends on your hardware, the most common way of choosing is based on what system you have, if its intel, a vanilla/retail kernel should work, if you have an AMD system, you have to use a modded one
Matthz
I have an Intel...... so I choose the vanilla/retail kernel?!
Gringo Vermelho
Normally, Core architecture and later Intel CPUs can use the vanilla kernel. Non-Core architecture (Pentium M, 4,D) and AMD CPUs must use a patched kernel.
Matthz
Okay the update to 10.5.3 worked with the vanilla kernel. BUT: The process "WindowServer" is always high in CPU, a reboot didn't solve this problem. (I've read this in a threat) EyeTV doesn' really work well, for example. Any ideas? Matthz
Okay, I think, I know the problem: I have an NVidea GeForce 7200 GS (VW202) graphiccard, and I got a disc with driver (NVinstaller V 41). The system profiler showed me then, that Quartz-Extreme isn't supported. What about a new driver? Or is it automaticly solved with the 10.5.8 update?! Matthz
Please, what about the drivers for my graphic card?! Any ideas?!
Gringo Vermelho
Google "guide for all nvidia boards".
Matthz
Hi..... okay, I tried the iDeneb Comboupdate.....cause I saw in the iDeneb Tool some solutions for Nvidia.... but somehow I'm too stupid for it ;-) (and I found no Thread for 10.5.3 to 10.5.8) I made the Kalyway Update to 10.5.3 -> no problems (except the graphic) then I tried two ways: first I installed the iDeneb Update, didn't reboot and installed the iDeneb Tools -> didn't work second I tried to install first the tools, then directly the Update and removed the missing .kext into System/library/Extensions -> didn't work! So, cause I didn't found any ideas for reaching it (10.5.3 to 10.5.8): how must I install iDeneb 10.5.8?
