Quartz Extreme and ATI Radeon HD4350

I have got a successful installation of 10.6.2 Snow Leopard running on my Windows 7 PC as a virtual machine inside VMware Player. It all seems to work fine except for the fact that I can't run iMovie which gives an error saying that Quartz Extreme is required.

From what I can see on the forums it looks like it might be easier to get this working with something like a nVidia 9400 graphics card than my HD4350, so I was thinking of replacing it. But then I saw a post at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=216464 which made me think that no matter what graphics card I have, it ain't ever going to work inside VMware Player.

Is it worth me changing graphics cards, or is this never going to work with a virtual Mac?
