AHCI Doesn't Boot

I have an Intel DX58SO motherboard, and I'm trying to install OSx86. I've read that I need to enable AHCI SATA mode in order to boot OS X. However, when I do this, the computer will not even get to the POST BIOS screen, it will just hang as the text cursor that you see before the splash screen.

Here is a video that I have uploaded that shows the issue and how I enter the BIOS in order to revert the SATA mode to IDE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjB0gZg2f2A

Please read the description, as it has more information. If there's anything else that you need to know, please ask.

Thanks! (:

I have had this problem as well with an early bios revision. I suggest you update your bios to the latest version from the Intel website. I installed OSX fine on this motherboard with AHCI (RAID didnt work for me). Also, you can install it with hyperthreading and all processor cores active.

For more info, check the guide i wrote: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...8&hl=dx58so

Good luck! And feel free to ask if you have any questions
