clemfon
Hello @all, after 2 days of trying to install IPC 10.5.6 OSX86 I don't know what to do anymore. I installed the system on an USB-Stick and everything was fine, the system worked. But it was very slowly, so I tried to install it on a HDD. But it didn't work: I made guid partitions, I left out every driver and the other stuff (exept Voodoo), I tried many different HDD's, but every installation failed. The message was: "Mac Os cannot be installed on your computer". What am I doing wrong? Do I need special chipset driver or something else? Please help me with my problem and use an easy understanding english, because I'm from Germany. PS: The HDD is via IDE connected. The other system information I leave out, because with the stick as volume everything was ok.
thrawn5499
did you try to boot from the computer even though is said it could not be installed? I had a similar issue once and even though it said could not be installed it booted anyway... I am having a similar issue now with SL i have it installed on a usb drive and it boots fine but i can not get it to boot from my internal hd I think it just has to do with selecting the right kexts for your system and the install you are using might not have all the right ones. you might have to install some manually. clemfon
I really can't imagine, that the system has been installed, because the message came up after 10 seconds of installing. So there can't be the system on the HDD. Does anybody can help me? I think, that's just one little thing, that causes this mistake, but what?! It simply doesn't work... Or can I put the ready system from the stick onto the HDD, using dd in windows command or something else? greets, clemfon
clemfon
Hello again, after trying nearly everything, I just changed the IDE connections on the board and the IDE cable and then everything worked. But after the installation the system said: Still waiting for root device. A well known problem. I solved it with an IDE to USB adapter, now my HDD is on the USB connection and everything works fine. Thank you really much! This thread can be closed now.
