I have Laptop Asus X50GL. The specs are:

MotherBoard ASUSTeK F5GL

CPU Version Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00GHz Socket 478

Video Adapter NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G

IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers: NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller

Disk Drive Hitachi HTS542525K9S SCSI Disk Device

Memory Device 2048 MB Manufacturer Nanya

Chipset NV MCP79MVL

I try to boot IDeneb 10.5.6 with -v options and all that is posted on screen is this:

Loading Darwin/x86

Loading kernel mach_kernel

Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230480

Loading HFS+ file: [mach_kernel] from 4230480

Loading Drivers: Loading from [/system/Librery/Extensions.mkext]

Loading HFS+ file: [/system/Librery/Extensions.mkext] from 4230480

Loading HFS+ file: [/system/Librery/Extensions.mkext] from 4230480

And after this ... nothing. The pc stood still for half an hour like this.

I want to ask is it possible to install any distribution of mac os on this laptop?

1. Check your BIOS to see if you can set:

Limit CPUID MaxVal [DISABLED]

Enhanced C1 (C1E) [DISABLED]

Execute Disable Bit [ENABLED]

Virtualization Technology [DISABLED] Does not appear to make a difference whether ENABLED or DISABLED.

Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology [DISABLED]

SATA Controller Mode [AHCI], or SATA Controller [Enabled], or Serial-ATA Configuration [Enabled]

2. Recommend you try iPC 10.5.6 but initially do not choose any video, network and audio drivers.........boot install DVD with -v cpus=1

iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Base System (installed by default with AppleDecrypt.kext and Disabler.kext)

Language Translations - Optional but not selected by myself

iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3

Kernels - 9.5.0 Voodoo Kernel

Drivers - Video Drivers - None

Drivers - Chipset Drivers - AppleNForceATA nForce Drivers

Drivers - Audio Drivers - None

Drivers - Ethernet Drivers - None

Drivers - USB Drivers - Patched USB Drivers

Fixes and Patches - Seatbelt.kext 10.5.5 (must be installed if Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel is installed)

Fixes and Patches - AppleSMBIOS Patch - AppleSMBIOS-27 Rev3 Mac Pro

Applications - Optional but all selected except Marvin's AMD Utility

3. If you are successful in getting basic OS X system installed and running OK, you can then sort out video, network and audio......
