Scheduled to ship next spring.

Talk about Apple having to revamp every quarter or so! (LOL), much different from the days of IBM PPC.

This is slated to be on motherboards with two (2) CPU slots. (8x2=16).

So much for Real Time Effects being a hassle anymore in Final Cut.

Should give Pro-Tools and Avid a run for their money.

Let's see, Pro-Tools TDM $15K or $3500 for OCTOpod.

Not sure why its called pod at the end, but that is what I am hearing....

Oppps, forgot to mention the codename for the CPU...

It's Yorkfield !!! for those that missed it in the thread title.

Search in google for more info.

:D

It was slated for 08, but so wasn't the dual core and dual core 2. AMD gaining market share pushed this forward some.

We must always remain thankful to AMD as if not for them, Intel would be selling us measly megahertz updates still, with HIGH price points.....AMD has changed all that.

2x8=16 CORES!!!!!!!! :blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::D
