SL 10.6 Final Cut Pro QT export problem

Well I've finally managed to get my entire hackintosh system up and running on SL 10.6.4

The only reason I tried the hackintosh thing is to be able to run FCP. I installed the entire suite (FCP, Soundtrack pro, compressor, etc...)

Everything seems to work ok, except when I try exporting my project. When you select QT conversion, you can normally change the video settings from say H264 to DVCPRO-PAL. When I click the button to change this setting, nothing happens. It just stays on h264.

I thought it might be some bug, so I tried sending to Compressor and tried it that way. Compressor gives me an error when editing the QT settings.

I have all the latest updates (10.6 combo first + apple update) and have installed the latest quicktime player.

This is seriously driving me crazy, any help would be appreciated!

My rig:

AMD Phenom II X4 955BE

Gigabyte MA790X-UDP4

4GB 800 DDR3

Snow Leopard 10.6.4

Windows 7 Ultimate 64

I also built a rig specifically for video editing. I would recommend reinstalling the FCP suite then do all the updates, it sounds like an issue with the software, not with the OS.

Well I did first install Final Cut (without Soundtrack etc...). When that didn't work I tried installing the entire FCP suite, but I didn't uninstall the previous version. But to my knowledge there is no such thing as an 'uninstall function' in mac os. Is there an easy way of removing every single FCP Studio suite component so I can do a clean install?

I'll google it tonight and let you know if it worked!
