With the ATI #####, i get a kernel panic error while trying to boot from the OS X dvd. I even tried to boot into safemood with -x, but to no use. I tried the ##### supported, both normally and safemode, but everytime a screen pops up telling me to restart my computer in 5 different languages.

There are no ACPI or AHCI settings in my HP DV6 BIOS. Following are my system specs:

Notebook: HP DV6 1235ee

Intel Core 2 Duo P7550

ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4530

Motherboard: HP 3628

Chipset: Intel PM45 (Cantiga-PM) + ICH9M (Base)

4GB DDR2-SDRAM

SATA TSSTCORP DVD Burner

SATA Western Digital 500 GB HDD

Also my BIOS is the latest version available on HP site dated 11-12-09(version: F.41)

I am attaching the screenshot of the kernel panic error that i get with the ATI #####. Please help me out with it.

and then i tried empireEFI bootcd, both legacy and normal from here:

http://www.mediafire.com/?yimizgizuzz

and i can get to the installation screen using -x flag, but my touchpad does not work, cannot move the cursor or do anything. I can only pass through the first language selection screen by pressing "Enter", then because the touchpad does not work i cannot do anything futher: (my touchpad on windows is synaptics)

Ok, thankyou so much for helping me out man, i've tried several forums and almost no one was helping me.

And by the way i tried this flag with the cd you gave me:

rd(0,0)/extra/legacy_kernel -v -x

i just added the -x, and it got me to the installation screen too, but again my touchpad was not working:

I tried your new bootcd, but the touchpad was still not working. I plugged in a USB mouse and it worked. Now, the next problem is that when i ran the disk utility, i found out that i have to repartition my whole harddisk and the whole of my data will be gone. I had set aside about 55gb space, and was hoping to install OS X in that 55gb partition without touching the rest of my partitions and thus keeping my data intact. Is there a way of doing that?

Well i found a program gdisk, which let me convert my partition table from MBR to GPT(GUID), without any data loss. Now the problem is that when i installed mac i had to boot the cd with the flag -x, and now when mac is installed and i boot mac from the cd, i still have to use the -x flag, and mac boots up in safemode. Otherwise this screen comes and the OSX doesn't boot up properly(I haven't yet installed ##### though):

is it due to some kext missing? probably like a graphics driver? should i try installing #####? or is there another way to fix this before installing #####?

this screen is from graphics kexts

in save mode no graphics kexts loaded

so search for your grahics kexts

and install it and the problem will go

good luck :censored2:
