terramir
I see lists on the net most of them are hopelessly outdated and incomplete. Would be good if there was a forum where people could post hardware compatibility questions, etc. the information is so scattered. Would be nice to be able to ask questions before I buy and browse threads just about what hardware works terramir

terramir
You have this instead of bothering people with the same questions over and over again. hopelessly incomplete and very confusing to say the least. I cannot find for example any of the boards supported by the gigabyte bios project. in let's say 10.6.3 and well 10.6.4 (isn't even there) I wish you would not have such a condescending attitude I'm trying to not just ask for myself there are plenty if people that ask these questions all over the net and well drop in there and become more confused. terramir
Gringo Vermelho
I cannot find for example any of the boards supported by the gigabyte bios project. Bad example. That list is available at the website of said project, which is the first site anyone with the slightest bit of interest would visit. InsanelyMac doesn't need more forums, it needs LESS forums. For example, why do we have these non-specific forums: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showforum=139 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showforum=137 When there are sub-forums specifically for Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard? And what's this for: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showforum=211 It's full of installation/post installation questions which belong in other forums. We're finally in the process of doing a long overdue refinement of the forum structure . Those forums are left over from when the structure was originally thought up many years ago. We've actually been moving posts out of the main Post-Installation forum since February to try and close it off, however it takes more than a day to move the 50 pages of topics and evaluate if they are worth keeping or not. We're overstretched doing general work as it is, so that doesn't help . The new forum is there to separate the obvious junk from the main forum. I just took a quick look through and there is not 1 post that I would consider moving to the main forum. If anyone has ideas as to how to reorganize the forum then we'd be happy to listen to them , but keep in mind this is all volunteer work so there is a limit as to how much we can do. mac09hack
You have this instead of bothering people with the same questions over and over again. Great, but it is still not listing 10.6.4 MacOS components.
XLR
Great, but it is still not listing 10.6.4 MacOS components. That's because 99.9% of everything that works with 10.6.2 works with 10.6.3 and 10.6.4, obviously.
psyjunta
I agree. The information is hopelessly scattered over thousands of pages, the wiki is confusing, it assumes you already know what every acronym means and what it does. The whole community needs an overhaul imo. I bet I'm not gonna be popular now.
