hi.
installed Snowy wind os x 10.6.3 on my msi wind u100, and everything seems to work out of the box, except for video playback.
all i get is black screen during the playback.it happens in quick time, VLC and even in photo booth, even that the web cam light is on.youtube videos working ok in regular mode, but all jerky in Full screen. so i guess its related to overlay.
i try to change the output module in vlc player, but all of them are the same.

any idea what could be the problem?
thanks.

ok, i have reinstalled Snowy Wind OS X and and installed VLC.
the video playback is ok, but still no camera.
i open photo booth, the camera light is on, but there is a black screen.
when i install the two KEXTS you mentioned, when i reboot, the system just hang. and i have to reinstall it to make it work again.

To get full graphics on gma 950these install instructions: copy all kexts into /E/E (won't get replaced by updates) or /S/L/E then rebuild kext caches with Kext Utility
here's the efi string(without this you will get nothing but a white screen save as com.apple.Boot.plist place in /E/E)

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com...yList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string></string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>8</string>
<key>device-properties</key>
<string>6d0000000100000001000000610000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff0400100000006d006f00640065006c0000000b000000474d4120393530200000004100410050004c002c00480061007300500061006e0065006c0000000800000001000000</string>
</dict>
</plist>

Reboot, and enjoy QE/CI and everything that is supposed to work. If the webcam still doesn't work maybe it's broken.

You have to try harder, the U100 is nicely compatible with OSX, like 99% of the features should work (WLAN is a question mark). EFI String you need for the FrameBuffer, it has HasPanel entry, it can be entered into EFI String or DSDT. NetBookInstaller does the job for you.
