SMB Broken

Hi,

I have an interesting problem here for you. I have Snow 10.6.4 Vanilla connected to a D-Link DI-524 router by wire. Netbook running Win7 in connected to same router by wifi. Both can ping each other's IP, ie. can 'see' each other. Both are in the same 'workgroup' workgroup. Both firewalls are open to each other. There is no security on the wifi link. The Win7 has full access to the Snow's shares, no problem. However, the Snow cannot connect to the Win7, neither is it listed in shared computers in the Finder, nor the Finder/Go/Connect to Server... command, which if we put smb://192.168.0.194 (Win7's IP) just hangs perpetually.

I presume this is SMB problem, but then again it may be BonJour. I originally installed from SnowUniv3.5 and remember reading something about BonJour/SMB not working properly but didn't pay any attention at the time and can't remember for the life of me what it said. However I've recently backed up then done a full Upgrade install over the top with a 10.6.3 disk I bought from the shop and upgraded to 10.6.4 online, so I presume all the relevant system files are present and correct.

Only a handful of kexts in /Extra/Extensions:

AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext

fakesmc.kext

FramebufferDisabler.kext

LegacyALC833.kext

LegacyAppleHDAHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext

LegacyHDAPlatformDriver.kext

NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

OpenHaltRestart.kext

PlatformUUID.kext

Sleepenabler.kext

Anyone got any handy hints?

Thx.
