Alright. This is a preliminary survey to determine what you, the InsanelyMac community, thinks about us, the InsanelyMac staff, producing a Podcast on Mac related stuff? (ie news, reviews, opinions, debates, etc.) Please vote and post your feedback below.

an unpolished podcast is a nightmarish embarrassment, and a waste of bandwidth.

good luck on coming to a decision that won't haunt you for the rest of your days! ;)

weekly? monthly? yikes!

Yes. That would be absolutely horrible, which is why this is still in the planning stages. This is just a preliminary survey to see what kind of interest the community has. NO GUARANTEES a podcast will actually materialize!

If it was just a monthly podcast, I could probably do a lot of it. But do people listen to monthly podcasts?

If they are good, yes. Why wouldn't they? All they have to do is add it to their podcasting app and it downloads the new ones automatically. They don't have to remember to go and grab it once a month. If the response is good enough, then you can go bi-weekly or even weekly eventually. It is better to keep time between podcasts long and have quality then keep the time short and come out with {censored}. But whatever you do, stay consistent. Personally, I hate the "whenever it gets finished" type of attitude toward releasing content.

I guess it depends on what the topic is. I'm sorry guys but as much as i love OSX86 Project (opps or is it InsanelyMac now?) i don't think i'm going to spend time downloading something that's going to tell me how errors on the site were corrected or how we're thinking about changing the colour and font.

Maybe a "How to make a Hackintosh" would be a cool one to do. But i guess that would be better as a Videocast.

Yeah video casts!!! That way we get to see how ugly some of you look (jokes).

quixos that's the true way to waste bandwith. lol

Anyway maybe it might be helpfull to list some ideas here of what to make.

What happened to the idea? I think it would have been great.

Did you mean 2008?

Oh yeah. ur gone.

This idea just slowly disintegrated. But I've just had a thought - what would you say to a Podcast Team (like the News Team but for... podcasts :))?

If I was honest, I always thought the News Team would do the pod casts as it kinda falls in their positions. Creating a Podcast Team sounds great but I just think it would be better if we had maybe 2 or 3 guys from the News Team (a fully functioning News Team btw) who were responsible for it for a podcast. Just think that way it gets done faster and cleaner. Having Two teams more or less making the material seems unnecessary and is going to cause issues in terms of sharing information and stuff. Creating a decent Podcast is hard work. Adding that to the workload of a News team wouldn't be fair. However, I think that if the News Team did their job (and we had frequent news coming in daily) then another team could translate that news into a podcast (division of labour makes things much easier). You see, having the News Team make a podcast will not work since they wont all want to do it, they wont all know how to do it, etc... Whereas, a team who specialises in creating a podcast would work better - plus, you could get more than 3 members on the job.
