domino
Gnome and KDE are just GUI systems and it's not possible to boot in either using grub. You either boot into either using GDM or KDE's login manager. Install Gnome after KDE because KDE is the defualt user interface for Kubuntu. Run the following command in kterm: sudo apt-get install gnome-desktop. I would highly recommand you read up on installing Gnome after KDE be cause there is a slim chance that it might ruin the login manager KDE uses. johnniecarcinogen
So how do I switch back and forth? At the login screen (this is called GDM or KDM depending on your default desktop environment) choose 'session' or 'session type' and you should have KDE and GNOME as choices.
