definately remove Voodoo audio kext if your trying these i uploaded

if its recognized in system profiler it should be working, are you trying SPDIF? only 1 of the ports will work with stereo out, i never got SPDIF working

try plugging headphones into the different ports with music/audio playing, one of them should work

Well, I have the MA770-UD3 (iDeneb 10.5.8), and all I did was use the ALC injector, *AND* the Azalia 1988 kext. Works for me enough that FCP7 sounds great, all 8 audio streams working and I can play video games like Nexuiz, Planeshift, etc. flawlessly. Hope that this helps. It took me weeks before I found joy with a flawless install, and a fully functioning MacPro 3,1 klone :-)

Cheers!

Iggy

VoodooHDA.kext is definetely removed, but as I look into my S/L/E folder I found theese two vodoo kexts:

VoodooPS2Controller.kext and VoodooUSBEHCI.kext

is any of theese an audio kext??

as I keep looking into my S/L/E folder I found this VirtualAudioDriver.kext

should I remove this too??? (sorry if I am lame :) )

how can I look for other possible audio drivers in order to remove them?

thanks in advance!

thanks Iggy. I was looking and have not seen the Azalia kext.

if there's no answer regarding removing other audio kexts (I don't know how to find them)

I will try this

thanks again

no, dont remove any other voodoo kexts, just the HDA audio one

try removing the 3 kexts i provided above, and try these 2 in this zip file here

http://rapidshare.com/files/51585161/alc889a.zip.html

to confirm, kexts i provided above to remove are HDAenabler, ALCinject, AppleHDA - this link above has 2 of the same kexts, but I'm not sure if they've been modified at all, perhaps these version will work better

dont forget to repair permissions after installing properly, also try booting with -f flag to rebuild the cache on boot

if you have chameleon installed, check Extra/Extensions folder, some audio kexts may have made their way in there and the whole time you've only looked in System/Library/Extensions. kexts are loaded in both of those locations so ALWAYS know and keep track of what kexts have been modified, added or removed

no sound...

if I go to "About this Mac" -> "More info" ->"Hardware"

post-617327-1277439810_thumb.png

it says there's no Audio devices :)

in order to rebuild permissions I have done this:

sudo -s (my password)
  chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions
  chmod -R go=u-w /System/Library/Extensions
  exit

and even rebooted -f flagged...

no sound...

played a song on iTunes trying every audio plug...

no sound...

do I need to install HDAenabler also?

btw: also looked in spotlight for any "Extra" folder and there were any

in terminal tried "locate Extra/Extensions" and there were any

I don't know what to do... :D
