Here is the way i installed 10.6 on Acer Aspire 1810TZ :

1 ) on an other Mac : Restore the 10.6 image disk on USB or HDD ( HDD for me )

2 ) with Myhackinstaller, intalled it on the HDD or USB where you put the retail DVD.

in Customize, remove : Graphics Enabler, and Check Graphics Disabler, also check ApplePS2controller

3 ) Boot on the is HDD/USB. Install by default.

4 ) at the end of installation, Reboot, and let the HDD/USB plugin to boot on, but select your new Mac OSX HDD system.

5 ) When you have done with registration, launch again MyHackInstaller, but this time choose your Mac osx system hard drive disk, and put the same as the 2nd step.

6 ) Unplug your HDD/USB installation disk before reboot.

7 ) All should be OK for booting.

After you have to put some Kexts :

8 ) with Kexthelper :

VoodooHDA.kext

AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext

for those two following : http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=192830

AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext

AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext

( and put dsdt.aml on root )

9 ) repair permissions in disk utility then reboot

Now you should have Mouse and Trackpad : OK ( with 2 fingers scroll, see post below )

Sound : OK

Native resolution : OK

Battery Status : OK

WIFI : i replace my card by a Atheros AR5B91 : Native OK

10.6.3 Update

i followed this :

http://farezz.fr/2010/03/faire-la-maj-10-6-3-hackintosh/ ( in French )

But i have some trouble with Mouse.

The mouse cursor is on left upper corner, but i can select by moving the mouse. The cursor stay always in corner.

I think it's coming from GMA4500, but i don't know.

I Also don't know if it's that it's called ARTEFACT.

I tried some ways to resolve that by reading here and other forums, but did not succeed, so now i stay on 10.6.0

PS : i will update with internal forum thread link.

i did it for the voodooPS2Controller.

by following this :

http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php?topic=235.0

( do not forget to delete the file as they told before )

voodooPS2controller could not be wirtten ( error message )

so i used unpkg, to copy voodooPS2Controller, and Trackpad, i put them in Extra/Extensions folder, then with Kext Utility i remade the Extensions.mkext

All is OKay, i have the "@" back.

I had issue with this touch, i could not do it before.

The trackpad allow to scroll with 2 fingers.

I also installed via the myhackinstaller method as mentioned in the first post.

But I didn't use the steps with AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext, instead I used from this link http://deviato.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/ch...-gma-version-2/

just the Download link and installed with the last mentioned lines

Just open the terminal and copy the boot file in your root directory, e.g.:

$ cd Desktop/ChameleonMR2

$ sudo cp boot /

(And give your password)

Here is the file from the website ChameleonMR2.zip

This gave me native resolution with no cursor artefacts or lines. Works absolutely perfect! :)

Mouse and keyboard work, I don't need 2fingerscroll so I didn't install VoodooPS2Controller.

Cardreader works out of the box. Didn't try the Webcam.

Updated to 10.6.3 by downloading the combo update from Apple website. Had no problems.

Other kexts I installed:

Battery : VoodooBattery.kext.zip

Sound : VoodooHDA.kext.zip

If you have problems, you can hit Enter on my hack boot loader to get to the screen where you can select other disks, and then type -v -f and hit Enter so kext cache gets rebuild.

I had the problem that I couldn't take screenshots.

I followed this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=202712

I created 2 folders under root folder: Backup and Workaround

Using Pacifist I extracted the files from the Leopard disk and put them in the Workaround folder.

In Terminal.app I inserted the code from the guide:

sudo -s

mv -f /Applications/Preview.app /Backup/
cp -r /Workaround/Preview.app /Applications/
cp /Backup/Preview.app/Contents/Info.plist /Applications/Preview.app/Contents/Info.plist
ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/Quartz.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/QuickLookUI.framework /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/QuickLookUI.framework

mv -f /Applications/Utilities/Grab.app /Backup/
cp -r /Workaround/Grab.app /Applications/Utilities/

mv /usr/sbin/screencapture /Backup/
cp /Workaround/screencapture /usr/sbin/

I followed the steps, and added following Kexts:

VoodooHDA.kext == sound work, but not perfect

AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext == work fine

AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext

AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext == Screen works as it should

AtherosL1cEthernet.kext == OK

Mouse, trackpad, keyboard (norwegian, @ in right "appleplace") OK

Webcam OK, though low resolution.

Ordered Atheros AR5B91 via Ebay.

Overall great performance, when WIFI in place and running, I think this will be just what I want and need from this machine. Win7? Blah...

Thanks.

I followed the steps, and added following Kexts:

VoodooHDA.kext == sound work, but not perfect

....

Solved the issue with the sound for now.

Right speaker had a subliminal noise. First I thought it was the fan of the netbook, but it was the right speaker, coming from the pink micro input on the right side of the netbook. Somehow its getting a signal and thats what caused the noise.

Just switch it off by putting down the volume of the "Microphone (Pink Left)".

After that you should not have any annoying sounds out of your right speaker.

Regards,

Hi,

i followed this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=259068 guide to build me a Mac OSx Lion install DVD and booted using Chameleon on a USB Stick.

Installation went flawless without any issues.

To get GMA4500 working i used this: http://tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=29005&start=0 guide.

Important was to boot up in 32Bit Mode (arch=i386) and to disable the Chameleon Graphics Enabler (GraphicsEnabler=No).

Not sure if Video Out is working as i don't have a HDMI capable Device here at the moment, i will check it later.

Hope it helps...
