GeForce 8400 GS 512 and Mouse/system lag

Hey everybody.

My MacOS 10.6.0 install is almost working... the only problem is a mouse/system lag and choppiness after the EFI String of my GeForge 8400 GS 512 (pci-e).

Right after the system boot-up, my mouse gets very strange... sometimes it's slow, sometimes it's fast... jumping around the screen. And the entire system is slow...

---

My system config:

Motherboad: Itautec SM 3320
Chipset: GeForce 6150 (Northbridge) and NVIDIA® GeForce 430 (SouthBridge)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+ (with SSE3)
Memory RAM: Itaucom 4x 1GB DDR2 667.
Hard Disk: SATA 160GB
Drive DVD: LG DVD-Writer
Network: NVIDIA nForce 430 Gigabit LAN Marvell PHY
Video: Offboard / Zogis GeForce 8400 GS 512MB / PCI-e
Audio: SoundMax® ADI1986A
Web CAM: no
Keyboard: Dell / USB
Mouse: Dell / USB

---

How I made my install:

* Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.0 Retail - using an external disk and a

MacBook Pro for the install process.

* Installed the Chameleon RC2.

*> Updated to Chameleon RC4.

* Copied mach_kernel.test7 to SL root.

* Changed /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist, to load the mach_kernel.test7,

and GraphicsEnabler to Y. And the EFI String of my Graphic Card.

* Created the dsdt.aml to my system.

* Installed the following kexts:

/Extra/Extensions:
AppleNForceATA.kext
NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
PlatformUUID.kext
fakesmc.kext

/System/Library/Extensions:
AppleAzaliaAudio.kext
nForceLAN.kext

The system boots fine. QE/CI enabled, sound working, network working.

But with the EFI String from my GF, the system get very slow, and the mouse very fast.. and lagging...

When I remove the EFI String from my GF, I have no QE/CI, but the system gets very fast... and no mouse lag.

---

What I already have tried:

Install the Disabler.kext to: /Extra/Extensions, and/or /System/Library/Extensions... without success...

Removed the AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext... without success too.

Repaired the Extensions Permissions... without success too.

So... now.. I can only have an working system without QE/CI (without the EFI String). With the EFI String my system gets very lag, the mouse jumps throw the screen.

---

Someone have a glue for it? Have experienced the same problem?

I'm running an Mac OS X 10.5.7 in this same hardware without problems, in an other HDD.

Everything run fine (sound, graphics, network).

Hi there,

You should try to remove the EFI string first.

Install ATI ATY_init.kext for 8400GS video injection (in /S/L/E) if you're running x86, which you should for that test7 kernel as x64 is unstable.

If anyhow you're on x64, then use NVEnabler x64 version 0.1b.

Delete cache and Extensions.mkext, repair permission.

Cheers,

I know this is an old post but I am wondering if the 2 members were able to solve their problem.

I also have the same issue. I used Hazard install, and update to 10.6.1. Everything is good, except when I attempt to use other graphics kext (as OOTB the default graphics doesn't allow me to use dual monitors) my system slows down then speeds up the mouse jumps all over the place making it virtually unusable. If I remove the changes I did then it is single monitor again and works fine.

I am somewhat of a noob to OSX86 project.

the first thing I noticed on the post above is that the original poster also has a MB with geforce 6150 and nforce 430.

I don't know if that is conflicting somehow.

my specs are:

Asus M2NPV-VM MB

MSI TwinFrozr GTS-250 1024MB

Here is where I show my lack of knowledge! I've tried 1)using OSX86 Tools to add EFI strings to enable my setup.

2) Followed another guide that I enabled by directly editing my apple.boot.com.plist (I assume the same as 1 but manually this time), 3) tried numerous kexts to fix it and no luck. Everytime it is the same result, dual monitors but practically useless because it is laggy and erratic mouse.

If you have any ideas don't hestitate to post. Thanks
