d70 Posted May 1, 2010 Share Posted May 1, 2010 I'm running 10.6.3 on the basic EX58-UD5 setup with a cirago BTA-3210 bluetooth dongle. The latest edition Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse work fine. However, only the Magic Mouse is automatically paired after a reboot. I have to manually re-pair the keyboard every time. To make it worse, the indicator light comes on and goes away (i.e. doens't blink/not in discoverable mode) when pressing the power button on the keyboard. I have to take the batteries out and put them back in to make the thing discoverable. Please help! TIA EDIT: Forgot to mention that the keyboard is automatically paired with my MacBook Pro after a reboot when I have that setup. I have removed the pairing from the MBP. I can see that you've changed the name now but I recognize you the very moment I saw your picture. I'm very happy that you , people form Kirgustan are using Apple wireless keyboards. LOL So, this is very common problem with Apple wireless keyboard but no so very often commented on these forums. The ting is that your keyboard was already paired with some another computer. For pairing again with another one you MUST unpair with previous one. There is an info on this at apple site, use google but i is very simple process. Question: I have a working iAtkos partition, could I just plug in the new apple mouse and it'll work? Or do I have to install drivers? And would all its functions work on my Win7 partition? d70 Posted May 8, 2010 Author Share Posted May 8, 2010 @drixz no updates on the issue. the apple wireless keyboard doesn't seem to want to pair after rebote. the mouse pairs every time. not sure if it's a bluebooth dongle issue or what. need to get another dongle to try. @djk9000 plugin physically or wirelessly? physically should work without any issues. wirelessly really depends on your bluetooth/RF receiver. I think RF should work fine. I tried with microsoft combos and it worked. for bluetooth, you may run in the issue i have. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lukekarrys Posted June 25, 2010 Share Posted June 25, 2010 I'm running 10.6.3 on a GA-P55A-UD3P with the same bluetooth dongle as d70 (Cirago BTA-3210) and I am having the same issue with the mouse pairing on restart but not the computer. My mighty mouse and keyboard have never been paired with anything else but this machine. I have a feeling it might just be the bluetooth dongle, but it still makes no sense to me why it would always pair the mouse but not the keyboard. Anyways, I think I am going to try out the ASUS BT21 as posted here ( http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1457760 ). Will report back on what happens. I had to reinstall the OS, so when I paired it while in 10.6.1 and then upgraded to 10.6.6, it must have (somehow) saved it and it works perfectly on startup! This is insanely lucky! I can't be bothered moving it back to see if it stays fixed (though vaguely i remember last time it did) so maybe a simple fix is to just remove usb and plug it back in. d70 Posted March 25, 2011 Author Share Posted March 25, 2011 I'm now on 10.6.7 and the issue is still here for me. I've run ports in front and back but no luck. Now it's just part of my day to day login routine. Sad but true. I tried using a logitech keyboard for a while but it was nothing like the apple wireless keyboard, which is exactly the same size as my MBP I use for work.
