Hi All:

I can not get GMA950(27ae) works with QE/CI anyway, I have tried to change the kexts for one million times,

but I finally find that it was never loaded

when I try to load it in terminaL:

ray-zhous-macbook:Extensions rayzhou$ sudo su

Password:

sh-3.2# kextload -t AppleIntelGMA950.kext

extension AppleIntelGMA950.kext has potential problems:

Warnings

{

"Kext has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi components; use only one style" = true

}

kextload: extension AppleIntelGMA950.kext appears to be loadable

16IOIntel915Device is not compatible with its superclass, 12IOUserClient superclass changed?

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension AppleIntelGMA950.kext

link/load failed for extension AppleIntelGMA950.kext

(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

Is there anyone who is strong enough to tell me what to do?

Thank you !!! emoticon-0137-clapping.gif

You cant load this Kext if you are in GUI, it has to be loaded before loginwindow. In plist and binary?

Hi ricom2ger!

Actually I read your reply to others before, then I checked system profiler and found that my AppleIntelGM950.kext is not loaded, could you please give me some advice, how can I make it loaded?

By the way, kextutil doesn't work in my system.....T_T......command not found...

Did you try to repear the permitions after installing the kext/s ? :P

Hi!

I repeat kext using a tool called kext utility , it says "repair permition..." everytime...

But I will have a try to set the permition manually to see if it is the point.

it seems that the tool did its work very well:

Your ID is 27ae? AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext is loaded? You changed the ID with Hex Method in the Binary File?

I have this same problem. With lspci I can clearly see that I have an 27ae card which I patched the GMA950 kext for, but the kext is never loaded. I'm stuck on 800x600, and I've tried about 3 different sets of kexts that are for the 8086:27AE card that I have, but they're never loaded. I'm using osx86 tools to install them so there's no way that I'm messing up the permissions or anything. Also AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext doesn't load.

What do I have to do to get these kexts to load? I know they're the right ones for my system but they don't load.

I seem to be having the same problem as all of you. I have tried like 5 different versions using OSx86 tools and kext helper. Always repairing perms.

Dell D820

OSX 10.6.8

Chipset Model: Mobile GMA950

Type: GPU

Bus: Built-In

VRAM(Total): 64 MB of Shared Sytem Memory

Vendor: Intel (0x8086)

Device ID: 0x27a2

Revision ID: 0x0003

Kernel Extention: No Kext Loaded

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1024x768

Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

I have used 10.6.6, 10.6.36, and 10.5.28 versions

The other issue is that even though I added cpus=1 to the com.apple.boot.plist I still have to type it when booting because the cursor barely moves when it finally loads.

It works.

You have to boot in 32bit mode only.

And some properties injection needed. Clover do this automatically. Not sure about other bootloaders.
