Guest delweeg
I've downloaded Quicktime 7.02 just after iTunes 5. I thought that Quicktime will work as well. After the installation success window I've pressed the restart button. My system has never booted again. Did anyone try installing this too? Any suggestions? cyrana
Don't do that, it is ppc and your system has 7.0 anyway. Only solution is a reinstall.
cabron
a tip: test it before in vmware deadmoo image if every quicktime update is a poison for x86, you will not lose your native install

Only solution is a reinstall. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But why it installed in the first place? I know that other programs refuse to install just at the very start. Also I thought that Quicktime is Rosetta program, so it is identical.

cyrana
QT is sort of tied into the very guts of the OS. So it is really needed to function. The one w/the dev box is a universal binary as jtle just said. But why it installed in the first place? I know that other programs refuse to install just at the very start. Also I thought that Quicktime is Rosetta program, so it is identical.

firebush05
CALL TO ARMS>>> Is there a way to completely turn off the feature that tells you when an update is available? That needs to be built into the newest patch builds, because 9 out of 10 people will go.. hey, an update, cool... and then kill their install all together. I'm one of the lucky ones that read this thread. Can it be disabled in further patches?
felixding
i'v installed iTunes5 but it DOES work fine, iTunes is always bundled with QT, isn't it?
