I was just wondering why everybody... well is here. Why have you installed OS X on your PC?

For me, I always liked OS X. I modded and tweaked windows to look like and work just like OS X. Now I can install OS X on my PC so I dont have to have 20 or so apps running to make windows look like OS X... because it IS os x. Also because I can't afford a real mac, and I hate windows.

Sorry if I left out any obvoius answers

i am an emulator freak, n64, ps1, dos, sheepshaver, pearpc (remember cherry OS? yikes!), and a back up fiend, i've every console bios known to man, window 3.11 games, useless os2 mega floppies etc.

the list goes on.

osX86 was naturally my cup of tea. :)

For me it was a fascination with Macintosh System 7 that started it and I got it up and running with emulators (softmac, vmac and basilisk II). Then one day after a new install of windows and a search for updated emulators I came across win2osx.net and OSX86project.org. What I read there was incredible, Mac OS X on a PC ( I did have to invest in new hardware though).

I don't hack it to run on generic parts at all.

I'm here because it's a great place to get cutting-edge news, opinions, and a community of people who are not stupid (well, most aren't) so tossing around technical problems and helping people out works out nice around here.

Apple and Steve Jobs are full of themselve on the hardware, especially now since the hardware is NOTHING SPECIAL. The case is prettty, oh wow :) , but the internals are just PCs. I would GLADLY pay for OSX to install on my pc, but alas no go. SO, I got this great PC and I added OSX86 and I am happy. I am a system admin and work with Windows all day and I am sick of them. Already got an engineering friend that went Ubuntu and now I am going OSX, though I keep a Windows box for Windows only games.
