My Hackintosh (10.6.2.) was fully working... until i wanted to share my Folders in network. I got several failures, and decided to reboot the Hackintosh

But since this time, everything is going wrong. I cannot boot. I used the "-f -v" parameters to look for problems, but i do not understand the output:

I checked disk and permissions per Install-DVD --> everything was good. I also repaired the permissions, but nothing helped. Does anyone of you know what to do ?

Only if you reformat. If you don't, it will just install right on top, all your apps stay and your personal files gets moved to a folder on the desktop. I guess if you use the same user name and password again it won't even do that. Not sure about that part, try it.

Anyway you won't lose anything, but of course you will have to install system updates again.

Hi !

I made the same stupid mistake on my C2D mac mini (The real apple deal :-)

You might wanna try booting to the install DVD (Boot HD , boot132, USB ,whatever you installed with) and cancel setup, run DiskUtil from meny , select your Harddisk and run repair permissions first. ( In my opinion , you cant make things worse.)

I did just that and when i rebooted Verbose, it complains in the same way for a couple of files (vmware, EyeConnect and a fev more that i guess diskutil is unaware of.

I ran these programs and they prompted me for password , did some good stuff of their own and Viola , the system is up and running.

Be warned, I was prepared to reinstall and figuered, Give repair a shot. I did this once and got away with it and it IS A MAC. You migh not be as lycky as a was

BR /Clark
