RedSox Posted July 2, 2006 Share Posted July 2, 2006 I was reading in a serial box program that Adobe CS does phone home and since there are no zone labs or black ice (spelling?), I'm wondering besides disconnecting to the net, what you do to stop Adobe from phoning home as well as anything else. But I don't think barring call homes to circumvent and gain the use of the product further that you are suppose to is appropriate. There's plenty of sites out there where you can join in that conversation. Yes, PS7 did call home for both windows and mac versions. Or was it 8. dont remember anymore... BTW, people put too much faith in LS. The problem is, there is no other application to compair from. Also, LS doesn't even compare to a firewall. So users beware.. edit: I take that back. Well I installed Little Snitch, and the first thing it did upon reboot was MS OFFICE 04 wanted to go online. I have the student edition so could care less, still, it phones home! Not worry: Use duplicate license, still get free updates from Internet and the whole enchilada. Do you have conclusive evidence of what it was trying to do when it wanted the network? If you do, please tell. It wanted to go to microsoft.com via a port. Same thing as photo shop. Office also broadcasts on your local network to make sure you aren't running the program multiple times and will disable itself if it finds another copy.
