EddieR
When I access my iDisk File and try to upload a file, it shows the file transfer, but than it stays on attempting to close file, does a big file take longer to transfer to iDisk?, why doesn't it close? do I have to make any configerations to transfer a big file and have the file close properly? EddieR
The iDisk feature is not perfect, according to apple's site, when transferring a file(uploading), it doesn't indicate how far you are into the upload, "waiting five minutes to close the file" could be more like hours, in some cases it may remain like that eventhough the transfer has crashed and not even indicate it. The iDisk transfer method, eventhough a good idea, is very flawed, I think Bittorrent is alot better, at least in bittorrent you can see how far you are into the transfer, and the estimated time for completion of the transfer. Apple, should consider putting attention to the iDisk method of file transfer; especally when one pays for it's access, by adding, as bittorrent does a counter that shows how far a person is into a transfer and estimated time to completion, at least if you see the counter has stopped you know something is wrong... Another flaw I have noticed, if you disconnect from the network, and than reconnect, iDisk crashes, but doesn't indicate it, where bittorrent reconnects checks the file at hand and continues the download/upload... anyone with good/bad opinions on iDisk, please post......
