Technobob
I was reinstalling Mac on my laptop, so I was using my server running XP to surf this site. I have Peer Guardian running on the server as it does my bit torrent downloads. Every time I loaded a page on this site PG was showing it had blocked Apple.com. At first I thought maybe it was one of my torrents so I shut my client down but it was still showing up. Why is Apple.com showing up when I surf here, I don't see any Apple ads so what gives
Colonel
Maybe Thorin Sprandel left spyware on the server.

other
You sure you don't have an apple windows open? Is it port 80? And I can't reproduce this :/
Technobob
I don't use my server for surfing except for hardware driver updates and microsoft updates. I installed a couple spyware programs and all they found was ad cookies and I removed them but it's still happening. The list I'm using are the default selection of list from PG updated by the program. The IP that it's blocking is 17.250.248.37 on port 80. I'm going to run a virus scan but that will take a couple of hours so I will report back the results. Update: The virus scan found nothing as I figured it would. I also tranfered over my bookmarks and tried many different types of web sites and none produced the Apple block. I have HTTP Block turned on in PG so if your trying to duplicate this turn it on because the block will not show up if it's off.

Technobob
It happens with every topic I click on and it's only when I click a topic. It does not do it on the main forum page, control panel, view new post and so on, only clicking a topic causes it. I just remembered that I have XP on this laptop, so I will see if I can repeat it. free30
Apple spying...Oh no...They're everywhere....You could be from apple....I could be from apple.....You are from apple arn't you!....No I'm from apple....I am one of apple's lawers.....Well could be. Ok you can tell by the way I type that I'm not from apple, good. Nice to know we can all trust each other. Safety in a flock though don't let them use snatch squods, to pick off the brave. So I guess they could gain your ip address through spying and not just watching, but how often do you give that away? Proxes who can trust them? I guess you need a friend to hide behide. Feeding on the power of fear. Free30, going mad.
Swad
That's really odd. I have no idea what could be causing that. (Tucks Apple ID badge into pocket...) Seriously, though - I'm stumped.
Technobob
OK I'm in XP on the laptop and I can't repeat it, this is very strange. I checked to see if that IP was in the block list and it is. I ran another spyware program on the server and it found nothing. I also checked for a root kit but nothing. I'm at the point now where I feel the security is compromised on the server and it's going to get the format treatment later today. Looks like I spoke too soon, it's doing it on my laptop WTF this is freaking me out. Update: I found the problem it's the avatars on this site, primarily Colonels as he posts on almost every topic, he stores his avatar on his .mac account. I clicked on some topics that only had one post and it does not happen but as soon as I click a topic that Colonels has posted a reply bingo it shows up. Sorry for the freaking out, now I feel like a moron Mods feel free to close this useless thread
