superpete
I'm having the same problem with a HP Pavilion DV7-2111tx. It's a Core2 Quad core. I'm pretty sure it's a BIOS issue I'm afraid so it doesn't look like a fix is available. Anyone know any better?

mucha
i have the same problem with a pavilion dv6-1240 laptop and so it is for many other owners of dv6 and dv7 series. it seems to be a bios bug not fixable via a DSDT patch but you can fixe it by patching lapic.c file from XNU source code
