hi i intend to install a hackintosh, kinda confused ;) on the hardware,

i've made a spec:

CPU: Intel core2duo E7400

GPU: Nvidia 9400gt (maybe asus)

mb: Asus P5k

Ram: 2gb, corsair value pack maybe (is it enough?)

hdd: 160gb western digital

is it good and does it need lots of patches to install??

and i want to put a sound card, auzentech or onkyo, maybe creative, is there any compatible?

coz i want to make it to play music ;)

can this spec use the new mac osx?? ;)

and last, does it need lots of mantainance for a hackintosh?

Rather than the E7400, get the Dual Core Pentium E6300 (Wolfdale). It's the same chip, for less money, minus 1MB of cache, but also with added VT support.

I wouldn't bother with the Asus Pk5.

Stick with Gigabyte- either the microATX G41M-ES2L, or the full ATX EP45-UD3P.

Either of these will run the latest Snow Leopard as well as any version of Leopard. Guides abound around here and the web for each.

Forget the sound card. Use the onboard, or use a USB sound adapter. If you want the highest quality sound, with surround and all the bells and whistles, then OSX and the Mac is not the platform for that. (Which is kind of ironic, since Macs are known for media, but actually are left rather limp for most higher-end consumer media playback, IE: no Blu-ray and no real audio choice. That the way The Jobs wants it.)

Resit 'update fever' for the OS, use backup installs, and Hackintoshes can easily be very light on maintenance.
