Acer Aspire 5517 Laptop Audio Problems

What's up everyone?

Fairly new to the site, but I've already successfully installed OSX on another desktop of mine and I am now attempting to install it on my Acer Aspire 5517 laptop.

My install was successful and the OS loads, but I'm not getting ANY audio at all.

I've tried locating my chipset information (Acer sucks) and could only come up with the following information:

PC Wizard 2010 listed it as a SB600 HD Audio Controller. And the speakers as RealTek.

I tried Everest home edition and it gave me nothing useful.

I even contacted ACER and they gave me some crappy round about answer.

I went into Windows and located my device and vendor ID's:

vendor: 10EC

device: 0272

Which should come out to something like 0x10ec0272 (If I even did that right)...

Anyway, I know some things are not compatible with the laptop like the the ethernet/wireless and graphics card, but I saw that RealTek was supported...

I attempted to install the ALC88X kext's with no luck. I also tried installing the AC97 Audio kext, no luck there either.

I then tried to install the Azalia kext. Now with this kext, I actually could see my device in "Sounds" (output) and I could see the volume in the bar at the top of Leopard (where with any other kext I could not see the volume control on the OSX desktop), but I'm still not getting any sound.

If anyone could provide any insight I would really really appreciate it. I've been all over google and multiple forums trying to find a fix for this. Or if someone could point me in the right direction as to how to get my chipset information for my audio, that would help immensely as well.

Here is what I've found so far for system specs in terms of audio:

(Everest)

Multimedia:

Audio Adapter High Definition Audio Controller [NoDB]

(PC Wizard 10)

SB600 HD Audio Controller.

MODE AC'97

If anymore information is needed, please let me know. I'll get it posted ASAP.

Warmest Regards.
