7950GT 512 cannot get CI/QE, tried multiple methods

Before I get blasted for related 790 threads, let me say I've spent the past week reading and trying each method, and still no luck. So rather then posting in mutliple (some very old) threads, I'm posting here...

 

I have a NVidia GeForce 7950 GT 512MB (g71) and I've managed to get 1680x1050@32, and recently rotation but still no Quartz Extreme / Core Image

 

I've already tried Natit, NVinject, NVdarwin, NVkush, NVenabler, GFXStrings package, modifying an EFI Studio generated string (there is no 7950 option), using a 7950 EFI string posted here on IM....

 

I have my device ID (0295) added to my GeForece/NVDANV40Hal/NVDAResman kexts. I've even tried using pacifist to extract nvidia kexts from various releases (10.5.5, 10.5.7, 10.6.0,10.6.2) to see if support was added/lost between OS updates, and comparing the OpenGL frameworks.

 

Nothing!

 

And I can't flash the rom since I do not see a ROM listed for my particular card, and it's not my computer so I'm not too keen on buying a new video card to replace it if it ruins it... and I haven't had much luck with Chameleon RC2/3/4 so I'm still on the EFI_v9 from the iatkos install

 

System:

Installed from iatkos i5 (10.5.5), updated to 10.5.7 get Ethernet working

Gateway FX530XM

2.13ghz dual core

D975XBX "Big Arm" mobo

4GB 800mhz DDR2

750GB Seagate SATAII

 

Card appears to be OEM manufactured by NVidia (ie NOT evga, bfx, other 3rd party etc...)

 

Please if anyone has a working 7950 with QE/CI please let me know how you did it (I've see a few say fully working). If anyone wants to help but needs more info please let me know where to look and what to post.
