Thank you T.

I tried your new installer V3.3.

But unfortunately result was the same.

I can't get diaplay any other res than 1024x768(my display can show 1920x1080).

Don't you have any suggestions?

Thank you anyway.

I'm so sorry for bothering you.

Fineyoung.

ok first the memory part then

try this smbios and spot the difference

Thank you very much, T. I really appreciate your cooperation.

But, it is very strange, nothing has changed.

system profile says my system has only 1GB 400MHz memory.

I'm confused now.

download IASLMe, decompile and compile dsdt.aml on your system and put it back in the xtra folder

Then it will optimize the dsdt for your system

T.

btw there are other bootloaders that can detect memory (see post from kdawg)

I usually use DSDT patcher, but do you think IASLMe is better?

And how do you think trying this:

dsdt patcher is to patch and IASLMe is to compile/recompile dsdt

maybe there's something wrong with the memory addresses in the dsdt.

IASLMe optimices the dsdt (while compiling) to your system

nvenabler is the only solution for now i think

There's a lot of info available about nvidia and native solution, still weird that it won't work as it should

did you tried different pci-e slot's

So, do you think I should try NVenabler 64.kext again?

No, I didn't because my system perfectly fine with Windows7.

Should I?

Sumobritches is going to write a tutorial for this board to get you started with all attached files

T

When it will make the tutorial?

Hi there,

i have fixed this board for a friend and got it all working

Ga-x58-ud5 with i7 920, 6gb 1333mhz and a Nvidia gts250

so i created this installer with pc-efi 10.5 and all files for his rig (dsdt, smbios, extra folder etc.)

Dsdt fixes: Speedstep, Sleep, Usb, Rtc, Hdef, Sata, Apple Lpc & Pwr button.

if you don't want to install/reinstall your system, just download the v2 files without the installer (it's complete incl IONetworkingFamily.kext) and put them in your extra folder

Installing with Pc-Efi bootloader package V1

this installer is NOT my work just edited with my files.

1. Restore the Snow dvd to a 8gb usb flash drive.

2. Install the custom bootloader package to the flashdrive.

3. Boot from the Usb drive and install Snow (part. Hd in Guid).

4. Copy uuid info to Smbios and Platformuuid.kext (2 places).

5. Copy IONetworkingFamily.kext to the rest of the extra/extension folder

only thing left for his rig is that i would like to see this nvidia text in the dsdt, but i don't know where

Maybe somebody else knows where to put it

This Dsdt is only for i7 920 cpu only

Edit the the Smbios.plist for diff. Memory and system info.

U can use MacToPlatformUUID.app to obtain the Uuid info

waking from sleep also works with keyboard/mouse

Questions?

T.

Used kext

fakesmc.kext

HDAEnabler.kext

LegacyHDA.kext

OpenHaltRestart.kext

PlatformUUID.kext

RealtekR1000SL.kext

and

IONetworkingFamily.kext

TO DO: i did not have enough time to get the right hdef code for this board in the dsdt so we don't need the xtra HDAEnabler.kext.

Pc-efi detect most nvidia card's so no need for any xtra kext (for Ati you have to find the right one)

................................

NEW Package (still needs testing)

All new pic's (from bios & system) btw system is in dutch/NL

 The bootloader package is V3?

>nvenabler is the only solution for now i think

So, do you think I should try NVenabler 64.kext again?

>did you tried different pci-e slot's

No, I didn't because my system perfectly fine with Windows7.

Should I?

BTW, I connect my display and PC with HDMI port.

Has this something to do with black screen?

i think for windows it does not matter in what slot you put it in, but for pc-efi it mite.

As you can read in the first post, i still have to put the video part in the dsdt but i don't know where (device address)

I know where to put it with a normal mb (single slot)

so yes then the only solution for now is NVenabler 64.kex

Wow, GREAT! :)

Thank you T!

that's great...

is everything working now; sound, sleep, restart, network, memory etc.?

T

:thumbsup_anim: I do not succeed to make it… you can make it you? What serves to you of mine?

It is made thus?

This looks ok!

Everything works fine except sleep.

When I try to sleep, system sleeps but it in fact shot down and when it should wake, it reboots.

But I think it is because I don't have proper NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

(I'm trying to download from netkas.org but the site seems busy now)

My guess is right?

you don't need NullCPUPowerManagement.kext because you use my dsdt.

if sleep is failing check bios setting's and check options Energy saver (see picture)

Unfortunately, without NullCPUPowerManagement.kext , KP occurs with AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext when I start the system.

And, with NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, KP also occurs 30 sec. ~ 1min. after I wake the system.

Don't you have any suggestions?

Thijmus,

I have found a issue regarding your installer, look at the boot.plist in the 3.2 and 3.2 installer. It's missing the bracket for <string>-v/string>, should be <string>-v</string> instead. Pic shows original plist. Just thought to let you know, looking out for you. Maybe this this can help with any problems that have been coming up lately. :(

quick question.

will any nVidia gts 250 1gig card work the same? or do i need the nvidia specific one? I am looking at possibly getting the gigabyte version of the gts 250 if that would work the same.

I am building a new custom rig in a couple weeks (have been debating a custom rig or imac to replace my old powerbook....can save some dough on the custom rig)...just gonna go with these specs for a hopeful easy OSX install. or at least some good support it seems.
