darcagn
I just bought a new MacBook a few days ago, and it's awesome. But I have one problem... If I have a CD or DVD in the SuperDrive and I move the laptop while it's spinning, the CD or DVD will come up with radial scratches when I eject it. I previously owned an old dual-USB iBook with a tray-loading ComboDrive and never experienced this problem before. I love my MacBook but I am afraid to put CDs or DVDs in it unless it's sitting level on a table absolutely motionless...
Swad
Wow, that's definitely not right. I'd ask for a replacement. That could damage some sensitive data (and it's probably not too good on the drive either!).
darcagn
Hmm, thanks. I'm going to email Apple about this. I'm really annoyed, though, because I don't feel like sending the MacBook in to get a replacement. I wonder if I could bring it to the CompUSA around the corner and have it repaired for free under warranty. They have Apple guys there. Then again, I do have a dead pixel and a swapout would be cool for that reason...

darcagn
macbook not sounding as good to me as it did at one point.. Doing more research on it, it seems like this isn't so uncommon with slot-loading drives after all. I still highly recommend the MacBook... I love this thing.
