jam86 Posted June 22, 2006 Share Posted June 22, 2006 Hey folks, Finally I got my Apple Keyboard running. Now there's a Problem. I'm coming from the "original" Mac Platform and so I'm used to use the Apple-Key (Command-Key) as the Apple Key, e. g. "Apple-Key + Shift + A" opens the Applications. On my OSx86 PC, the Command-Key is represented by the alt-key, and the alt-key is represented by the key with the Apple Logo on it (erm... the command key). Means if I want to open Applications I have to press "alt + shift + a". Sound confusing, but to say it it some words: I just want that the key with the Apple logo on it functions like the Apple key. Just go to the "universal access" in system preferences. there is an option to display what kind of key you're pressing. it really helps for non mac keyboard. i found that windows key on my keyboard is actually "option" key. while my "command" has been swap to "ctrl" (default is "alt"), and "control" key is "alt" (default is "ctrl"). you might also want to browse the Finder's help, as this kind of information is easily available. To be more specific: System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard > Modifier Keys > swap the Command and Option keys in the drop down boxes.
