Is it possibile to use an internal hdd or partition of the main one instead of a usb stick as my usb ports are working at 1.0 on my Leopard install?

Yes, it worked for me.

You can for example use the first phase of this guide

http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/08/how-to-...-pc-hackintosh/

and then proceed with the myhackinstaller that you will launch from your working leopard installation.

I'm trying to create my usb in disk utility but it says it will take about 20 hours to complete. I have a reformatted usb flash drive and my mac is using usb 2.0. I followed the screenshots in this post and they look the same. Any ideas?

Disk Utility is notoriously bad at estimating time. Give it 15 minutes and it'll probably say 1 hour left.

MyHack sucks.

I went out and bought exactly what this guy lists on his website as working.

http://osx86.sojugarden.com/installer/

On the web page he gives:

"Recommended systems known to work very well : Budget Build | Enthusiast Build | Professional Build"

So I bought :

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Motherboard

EVGA 512-P3-N973-TR GeForce 9800 GT 512 MB

Intel Core i7 Processor i7-920 2.66GHz 8 MB

Loaded up Snow Leopard and followed the directions to the letter.

It works except the Graphics Card is stuck in VESA 800x600

No matter what I try it is stuck in this mode.

I have read everything on the web and tried every possible suggestion and solution.

Am I missing something here ? Is this some kind of practical joke?

I don't think I have been so disappointed ever in my entire life.

Here is what my system profiler reads:GeForce 9800 GT:

Chipset Model: GeForce 9800 GT

Type: GPU

Bus: PCIe

Slot: Slot-1

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 512 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0605

Revision ID: 0x00a2

ROM Revision: xx.xx.xx - internal

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 800 x 600

Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Display Connector:

Seems like it should have worked within the Chameleon from what I've read with just this :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

<plist version="1.0">

<dict>

<key>Kernel</key>

<string>mach_kernel</string>

<key>Timeout</key>

<string>5</string>

<key>Kernel Flags</key>

<string>arch=i386</string>

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1024x768x32</string>

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>

<string>y</string>

<key>PciRoot</key>

<string>1</string>

</dict>

</plist>

Nope doesn't seems to do anything.

I also tried adding a EFI String , and NVenabler.... But really from what this MyHack guy says I should not have had to do anything with this hardware.

Anyone out there? MyHack guy?

Charles

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! With this guide I finally managed either to install Mac OS X on my own P5B board when I completely lost hope, and what's better, I'm finally well inside the wonderful "OSx86" world: I now know how to use kexts, what's the DSDT and what to do in order to patch it, and the top OSx86 resources.

Your service is appreciated!! :thumbsup_anim::angel::thumbsup_anim:
