Cillit Bang
You have to mount the DVD in Daemon Tools. VMware mounts it somehow wrong. Then it works!

esc2
When you get to the point where no drive is available to install OSX onto go back a step. Invoke Disk Utility at the very top of the virtual window. Now create a partition (Mac Journaled) on the virtual drive of at least 10GB. Now you have to make sure you created an FDISK/GUID partition and not an Apple Powermac partition. ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303220 ). If you create the wrong partition type OSX86 will install but it will not boot even though info says it is bootable (It will boot, just not on an x86 machine). My 10.4.3 install tells me if the partition is wrong. The later installs are silent on this. 10.4.3 won't let me install OSX86 on the wrong partition type. The later osx versions let me install anyway, but they won't boot.
