Marc Connor
I'd like to know if 10.5 will be able to run on a PC. If you're not sure, I'd at least like to know to which side your answer is leaning.

gwprod12
Since no one's ever seen Leopard. One might assume that we cant know one way or another if we'll be able to run it on vanilla pcs. One would assume that Apple intends to revamp the kernel, and without source and omeone like Maxxuss.........

It will be like hacking Tiger all over again and without Maxxuss it will be quite a challenge. Oh, and my PC is not vanilla. It's black with an Apple sticker on the top. Of course nobody is sure, but the best to consider this question is to look at history. It shows that OS X does inevitably gets hacked. Really it is a question of time. Now given that Apple will start releasing 10.5 betas in August, at least some four months before 10.5 is public, I think that time is really on our side here. Turbo50t
The quick answer to this is Yes. Someone will hack it and we will be running it. When Apple decided to use Intel chips they opened the door for thier OS to be hacked just like any Other PC. They can try apply special hardware or firmware requirements, such as EFI, but Intel is already putting out Boards with EFI and someone will figure out how to get them to work with the OS. I just read a post somewhere where two guys are burning EFI info to roms and have been successful in doing it. It's all relative, wait an see we will be running 10.5 on the biege boxes.
