Ryu-ka
No Elaborating... You can't because Microsoft isn't that stupid product keys for Windows flavor are usable specifically for the flavor they're intended for. It's like asking "Why can't I use an XP serial with Vista?". Mr.Techie456
Because Windows XP and Vista are different distributions of Windows (and from experince Windows Vista sucks), where Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate are both in the same family but sold as different flavors. Plus Windows 7 Enterprise is basically the same as Windows 7 Ultimate, but Enterprise is only open to orginizations such as colleges. On top of that the Enterprise license can be used on multiple PCs (or Macs). As Ultimate can be bought by anyone and the license can be used on one PC (or Mac) at a time. Haney
...Plus Windows 7 Enterprise is basically the same as Windows 7 Ultimate So if Windows 7 Enterprise is the same as Ultimate, then why not just install Enterprise since you say you already have a copy and the key? Hmmm...
Nghia Developer
I'm wondering I have a copy of Windows 7 Enterprise X86 and the product key along with. Is it possible to use the product key Enterprise on Windows 7 Ultimate X86??? I DON'T think you can But you should better ask Microsoft than us
CrazyMacGuy
Even though the functionality and features of Ultimate and Enterprise are same, the targeted customers are different. So, you will not be able to install Ultimate with Enterprise key As said by Haney, you may consider installing Enterpise..
Mr.Techie456
I was just seeing if it would be possible.
Mr.Techie456
Not also that it varies in performance between them both.
Jakweeze
You should however be able to install Enterprise x64bit (which is Identical to Ultimate x64) The product key is valid for all revisions of the same Tier of Windows 7 I.E. My login to MSoft shows me my Win7 product key (which is always constant regardless of pick), then asks what version I want to download today to use that key on, x86 or x64, ISO, or DMG
55318008
I doubt its possible.

Rufus Sweetwater
I have been through at least 7 windows OSs and i can defiantly confirm that each windows flavor has a SEPARATE library of product keys that are IN NO WAY interchangeable with each other [32 or 64-bit]. I have even tried using keygens and mods that say they work with each other and that they have patches installed that make it possible, BUT IT DOESNT... Mr.Techie456
Ok. Then the question is does anybody know a hack that can do this???
Hellsing834
I would highly doubt that would be possible. I would think that each version would have a different algorithm for producing keys...

Haney
> How do use my Windows 7 Enterprise product key to activate Windows 7 Ultimate? > Ok. Then the question is does anybody know a hack that can do this??? LOL 3 1/2 months later and you're still trying to hack something that you say you already own? Somehow I don't think you've been honest with us. But since you seem so confused, here's a link with instructions on how to get Win7 Ultimate to work: How to get a Windows 7 Ultimate license code Haney
Mr.Techie456
I'm not confused on what I'm trying to do, and theres a performance difference between Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate
Mervik Haums
I was having windows 7 ultimate with me. As it was working with my desktop I purchased just a key of professional edition and installed the same cd in my laptop with this professional key. It gone well and the system automatically installed w7 professional edition. I think you can use any key. It's all on the key leading which os should be installed.. jwettel
Give it a try, and later you will confirm what everyone here has told you: no way. Between Ultimate and other versions, Ultimate need more resources. And will use more ram. In my laptop I have Home Premium, and in my desktop I have Ultimate 64 bits (runs great)
