Hi I have spent some time reading forums and posts from others and have nearly got the perfect Mac

In Extra/Extensions I have

fakesmc.kext

NullCPUPowerManagement.kext

OpenHaltRestart.kext

SleepEnabler.kext

In /System/Library/Extensions I have added

RealtekR1000SL.kext

The reason for using R1000 kext is so I can have 100 ( maybe 1000) network speed but cant test 1000 without it I can only get 10 Mbs

SleepEnabler does not work yet need more research

Now the guts of it

A> Have these

1> Original copy of 10.6.0 - w w w . Apple dot com

2> Empire EFI

3> A DSDT file here is dsdt.aml.zip

B>How I did it with several hard drives

1> Restore OSX 10.6.0 Retail DVD to a USB device

2> Run My Hack Installer from the empire EFI and select your USB stick as destination ( DO NOT select any others at this stage )

3> Select Extensions to install into Extra/Extensions ( you should only need those I have for the X48-DS5 )

4> Add a DSDT file to /Extra ( you may use mine its using a Q6600 processor )

5> Reboot from the USB stick using verbose flag to see errors and select OSX install disk ( DVD ) or what ever you called it

6> Install OSX as per normal onto a fresh or unused hard drive NOT a working copy of osx you will still need it later using GPT partition scheme

7> Once Installed reboot OSX ( previous version ) and run My Hack Installer again this time pointing to your newly installed Snow Leopard and follow steps 3 and 4 again

8> Reboot this time to the Snow Leopard Hard Drive - you should have a Valid operating system

Some notes which may help

My DSDT is patched so native Sound should work ALC889a

If you cant get to the installer window it may be your graphics card I had a HD2600XT and had to remove ATIRadeonx2000.kext I now have a HD4670 and it works OOB in 10.6.2 need to try from install disk to confirm

Sata ( orange ) ports on motherboard show up as ESB2 and are NOT orange ( hot swappable ) but display as normal hard drives

SATA ( purple ) ports on motherboard show up as orange and are hot swappable

Sleep does not work ( yet )

Lan only works at 10Mb/s need kext to get 100Mb/s ( or DSDT patch - this would be better )
