Very interesting.  Later this week I'm going to try to installer Windows and OS X or Ubuntu and OS X on one of my laptops.  I'll post results then too.

Ok guys, I'm typing this from OSX.

Here's how I did it.

Use the wiki located here.

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Dual_Booting

a couple quick notes (from a noob that learned the hardway)

1. You need unpartitioned space before you try setting up a partition through the Gentoo live cd. Dur. I didnt know that, hehe.

2. When you set up the FreeBSD VMWare workstation, do advanced setup, so that you can specify your "physical drive" as your main hardrive. If you're doing this on one drive, hit the escape key QUICK to get to the bootmenu, else xp will try to load, and promptly {censored} itself. Seriously, this took me 3 or 4 attempts because VMware wasnt being responsive enough.

3. "+6200M" wasnt enough space for me to install the x86-flat.img. Not wanting to trial and error, I chose to allow it to partition the rest of my space (some 50 gigs). This wont all give this space to OSX though, itll only "show" the 6 gigs that are part of the image when you boot up OSX. I'm going to have to go into partitionmagic and reallocate the rest of that space.

I followed the rest of the steps and it went off without a hitch. I restarted, and was prompted to boot either XP or Mac OS. I loved seeing that.

Now that I'm here...not sure how long I'm staying. Things are sluggish, iTunes isnt working for me (even with SSE3), and sound isnt working. I'm going to try some drivers and tweaking though, and will post if I find anything new. Still, I'll be damned. OSX on my Dell.

Ironically enough, the key layout (for shortcuts) is still based off the mac keyboard, so I cant take anyscreen shots yet (in the 30 seconds I tried).
