retroz Posted June 18, 2006 Share Posted June 18, 2006 I am curious to say the least (I just posted something about this in drivers), that with ATIx1600 being the card of choice for iMAC and MPB you would think everyone would collaborate and focus on this one particular card? 2nd, Does anyone have an idea on what the new chips from Intel will be and how much of an improvement we would see either in Vista, XP or MAC OSX? Do you think we will see more driver support once the towers come out as they will have to support particular graphic cards. Any speculation on what the first tower will be and price range? Dual Dual core (4 CPU's) and 4 core quad CPUs? In theory by Christmas, we should be able to build a mac box with 2~4 CPUs that would render almost like a renderman as well as have drivers for many different cards! Thoughts? I say this as I just read here at toms hardware that 805 dual core at $123 (newegg USA) can overclock to 3.8 with little tweaking and good memory. One would think this is a good deal, buy some good memory and a Asus card, PCI (texas instruments FIREWIRE) and you should be set. What say you?
