A Nonny Moose
Go to Disk Utility. Select that partition and format it as HFS+ BE WARNED!!!! This will erase data on that partition (but not the others)

Rammjet
Erase will do the format. To join and format two partitions (this is speculation because I haven't done it): In the left pane, click on the disk drive (not the partition). On the right pane go to Partition. Lock each of the partitions you don't want to touch by clicking on the partition and then clicking on the "locked for editing" button. Then select the partitions you want to join and delete each of them, one at a time. Select the new large free space and make it one large free space and partition it as MacOS Extended Journaled. Then, in the far left pane, click on your new partition (not the drive) and the Erase button in the right pane. Erase your new partition as MacOS Extended Journaled. Now go unlock your previously locked partitions.
aberracus
tried that last time doesnt work, the lock does not protect the partition contents, just the size.
A Nonny Moose
Oh, wait, you need to COMBINE the drives (didn't see that the first time). There are several third party critters to do that. The Apple solution involves booting up from your CD and re-partition the hard drives (which erases all data).
